On Pro and up, add money in, money out and journal entries the platform does not capture on its own, and delete what you added by mistake.

On the Pro plan and up (and during any trial), dealerships whose books live in AutoDealer can add what the platform doesn't capture automatically, from Add transaction:

  • Money in: a deposit that is not a car sale or a customer payment: a rebate, a refund, a loan, or money you put in.
  • Money out: rent, utilities, advertising, anything the business paid for, and which account it was paid from (or the vendor, to pay later).
  • Journal entry: the raw entry with debit and credit lines, for your accountant, with a live balance check.

If it already came through your bank, categorize the bank transaction instead of adding it again.

Made a mistake on something you added? Open it and Delete it. It stops counting in the month it was in, even an earlier one, and your records keep the original and a matching reversal on the same date so the history stays complete; the list stops showing the pair once both fall in the dates on screen (tick Show deleted and excluded to see them). Entries AutoDealer recorded for you change where they came from: fix the deal, payment, or vehicle, and your books follow.

If your books of record are QuickBooks or another system, record expenses there instead; the page says so.
