Invoices and billing history
View your subscription billing history and download invoice PDFs from Settings → Billing.
Your subscription charges and receipts live on the Billing page. Each row is one invoice or payment; rows that have a finalized invoice carry a downloadable PDF.
View your billing history
- Open the account menu in the top-right corner and choose Billing (under the Settings list). You can also go straight to /settings/billing.
- Scroll to the Billing history card at the bottom of the page.
- Each row shows the Date, Description (your plan name and, when available, the billing period), a Status badge, and the Amount.
The table lists your 5 most recent invoices and payments, newest first.
Status badges tell you what happened to each charge: paid, pending, failed, uncollectible, or refunded. A refunded amount shows struck through.
Download an invoice PDF
- Find the invoice row in Billing history.
- Click the download icon at the far right of that row.
- The Stripe-hosted invoice PDF opens in a new tab. Save or print it from there.
Stripe generates and hosts every invoice PDF. The link points to Stripe's copy, so you don't need to keep your own file.
Not every row has a PDF. If the download icon is replaced by a dash (—), there's no invoice-PDF link on that row yet — common for pending or not-yet-finalized charges. The icon appears once Stripe has issued a PDF for that charge.
When the history is empty
If you're still in your free trial, you haven't been charged yet, so the card reads: "No invoices yet. Your first one will land here after your trial ends." Your first invoice appears after the trial converts and the first charge runs.
The Billing history table only shows on an active or trialing subscription. If your subscription is cancelled, past due, suspended, or you have no payment method on file, the Billing page shows an action panel instead (for example a plan picker or "Update payment method"). Resolve that first, and the history reappears once the subscription is active again.
FAQ
How many invoices does the page show?
The Billing history table shows your 5 most recent invoices and payments. There is no full archive or pagination in the app today. For older records, download a recent invoice PDF and keep your own copies, or ask support.
Why is there a dash instead of a download button?
That row has no invoice-PDF link yet. PDFs come from Stripe and appear once the invoice is finalized. Pending and failed rows often have no PDF.
Can a salesperson or manager see billing?
The Billing page is readable by any signed-in user at your dealership — anyone can open Settings → Billing and view the history. But only users with billing access can manage the subscription (update the payment method, change plan, cancel, or resume). By default the account owner has billing access; others need it granted by a platform admin.
Where do the charges actually come from?
Stripe handles all subscription charges, renewals, and invoice PDFs. AutoDealer.io keeps a mirrored copy of your recent invoices so the history loads instantly without a Stripe round-trip — but the actual money movement and the PDFs are Stripe's.
How do I change my card or plan?
Those live on the same Billing page, above the history table — use Update payment method in the Payment method card, or Change plan in the Current plan card. Both require billing access (the account owner by default, or a teammate a platform admin has granted it to).
