Lienholders
The lenders you fund deals with, plus your own dealership for in-house notes: add them once, attach one to a finance deal, and it fills the title forms.
Last updated
A lienholder is the bank, credit union or finance company that holds the lien on a car you sold on credit. Add each one once, then attach it to a finance deal: it fills the lienholder on the title application and the other forms.
Add a lienholder
- Go to Settings, Lienholders, and click Add lienholder.
- Enter the Name, and the EIN / Tax ID if you have it.
- Add the email and phone, the Payoff phone and Payoff address, and the mailing address.
- Click Add lienholder.
Use one on a deal
On a Finance deal, pick the lender in Lienholder (optional) when you create it, or later. A finance deal cannot close without one: its checklist shows Lienholder required at the financing stage. A trade-in's lienholder is typed on the deal as free text, under the trade's payoff.
Your own dealership (BHPH)
When you create your first in-house (BHPH) loan, your dealership is added as a lienholder automatically, named after the dealership and filled in from your main location. It shows a This dealership badge. Your BHPH paperwork uses it when no other lienholder is attached. You can edit it, but not delete it.
FAQ
Who can manage lienholders?
Anyone on the team can add or edit one. Deleting is for owners and admin managers. Deals that already name a deleted lienholder keep showing its name.
