What the free tool does and does not do
It is a small, honest version of the studio in the app.
It does
- Remove the background from one outside photo of a car and stand the car on a showroom, a studio, concrete or an open sky.
- Give you the result at listing size, about 2,000 pixels wide, with no watermark.
- Work with no account, three photos a day.
- Delete your photo: unavailable after ten minutes, gone from our storage within fifteen.
It does not
- Do many photos at once, or a whole car. That is what the app is for.
- Repaint what shows through the glass. The old background can still be seen through the windows.
- Change the car: no colour change, no removed dents, no generated parts. The car's own pixels are kept.
- Read HEIC files. Save an iPhone photo as a JPEG first.
Every photo of every car, not one at a time
In AutoDealer.io the studio runs on all of a car's outside photos together and evens out their brightness, so the set looks like one shoot. You pick the dealership's backdrop once, or upload your own. The original photos are kept, and one button puts them back.

Is the car photo background remover really free?
Yes. Three photos a day, at listing size (about 2,000 pixels wide), with no watermark and no account. A fourth photo the same day asks you to create an account.
What happens to the photo I send?
It is used to make your result and nothing else. It stops being available ten minutes after you send it and is deleted from our storage within fifteen minutes. The results themselves are drawn when you ask for them and are never stored.
Which photos work best?
The whole car in the frame, taken from a front or rear corner at about headlight height, in even light. A photo where the car runs off the edge still works, but the car is cut off in the result too.
Why can I still see the old background through the windows?
The tool cuts around the outline of the car, and the glass is part of the car. Whatever was behind the windows can still show through them. Photographing the car against open sky or a plain wall makes it far less noticeable.
Can it do all the photos of a car, or my whole inventory?
Not here: the free tool does one photo at a time. In AutoDealer.io the same studio runs on all of a car's outside photos at once, and on many cars from the inventory list.
Which file types can I send?
JPEG, PNG and WebP. A HEIC photo from an iPhone needs to be saved as a JPEG first.
